The Whitney Museum seeks a project researcher for prints. Working collaboratively with other researchers and cataloguers, the prints researcher will be solely responsible for the research and data entry of information into the Museum’s collection management system. Responsibilities: Work efficiently and thoroughly through object, artist, library files, and related materials to verify and complete object information, i.e. provenance, exhibition, publication, artist bio, collection questionnaires, and print documentation. This position will require communication with Permanent Collection artists to gather missing information and to provide a comprehensive understanding and documentation of the work and the artist. Oversee summer intern/research assistant.
Requirements: M.A. in Art History/ Ph.D. preferred, specializing in contemporary American Art or related; strong interest in prints, excellent research and investigative skills; document management skills; strong attention to detail and experience handling art; strong computer skills and knowledge (MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
