Job Opening – Internship (02/2011)
Archival and Press Department Internship
Andrea Rosen Gallery
New York, New York
Andrea Rosen Gallery is looking for a highly motivated intern to work closely with the imaging department. The candidate’s primary objective will be working to further develop and maintain an extensive list of press contacts, and to create innovative methods to supply promotional material to the press. It is ideal but not necessary that candidates complete this in-depth and hands-on internship in conjunction with an education program in a related area, such as library studies, art history, or journalism.
Other daily tasks will include: processing visual material such as slides and transparencies, assisting with re-formatting artist bios and checking bibliographies against the print material in the archive, updating bios, processing incoming archival material, and assisting with the continued organization of the image archive.
Candidates should be eager to learn and should work well both individually and as part of a team. The candidate should have some background in archival practices although this is not essential. The most important requirement is impeccable attention to detail.
Salary: Unpaid. Lunch is provided every day.
Commitment: Two to three days per week through May 2011.
