Art Education Digital Learning Intern
Greater Reston Arts Center
Reston, Virginia

Job: The intern will be working as part of a team to develop an exciting new digital learning product for the Art in the Schools program, the signature educational program of Greater Reston Arts Center. The intern will be working on the research and development of this product to include: existing product evaluation, market research, product guideline development, prototype creation, and production of the actual products (over 70 to be produced eventually). The intern will leave with a sample product created during their internship.

Where: Greater Reston Arts Center (GRACE)
Reston Town Center, Reston, Virginia

When: 8 weeks – between May 16 to August 26, 2011 (dates negotiable), 35 hours per week

Eligibility: Intern must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student who will be returning to college as a full-time student in the fall of 2011. Students in art, art history, art education or education preferred, but all degrees will be considered. Must be familiar with MS Office suite and comfortable with learning new software.
Stipend: $2,750 – made possible by a grant from the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program (CSJP) and administered by Volunteer Fairfax. The intern will be an employee of the Greater Reston Arts Center and will be required to participate in CSJP activities.

Organization: Founded in 1974, GRACE is a non-profit contemporary visual arts center whose mission is to enrich individual and community life by involving people of all ages in today’s visual arts through arts education, curated exhibitions and a national fine arts festival. ” Curates professional art exhibitions
” Develops and produces educational programs for children and adults, including Art in the Schools program in 46 schools, summer art camp, and Explore More.
” Produces the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival a nationally ranked fine arts festival, held in Reston Town Center in May and attended by 50,000!
