Position to begin August 2012 and is tenure-track. Successful candidate must be a generalist in Art History and capable of teaching a broad range of courses. Nine-month contract responsibilities include a teaching load of four lecture courses each in the fall and spring terms, including all levels of Art History (Survey 1, Survey 2, Modern Art, Contemporary Art, and a rotating course in Non-western Art or the candidate’s area of specialty); student advising; and participation in duties related to the University’s shared governance structure. Experience with the delivery of online courses is desirable.
The Art Department at Anderson University is NASAD accredited and offers a vigorous BA experience for approximately 175 majors in 4 concentrations: Art Education, Ceramics, Graphic Design, and Painting/Drawing, as well as a Minor in Art History. We are seeking a collaborative colleague to participate in a dynamic Art Major, which has experienced 75% enrollment growth in the past 5 years.
Successful candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Art History with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience above the TA level preferred; ABD will be considered. Rank and salary are contingent upon qualifications and experience.
