Job Opening – Assistant Director (05/2012)

Interim Consultant Contract, minimum 6 months, starting June 2012
mima is looking to appoint an Interim Consultant to act as Assistant Director to work alongside the Director at this crucial time in mima’s development. Mima has just turned 5 years old and has attracted over 700,000 visitors during this time. It was successful in attracting additional Arts Council funding as a new National Portfolio organisation and is now taking its next steps in organisational development moving to become an independent charitable Trust by April 2013.
The Assistant Director is a key executive position that will aid the Director in this next stage and is a crucial role in improving the gallery’s commercial and business performance and in leading the operational and visitor services teams, improving retail, catering and hires income, increasing visitor numbers through marketing and overseeing the finances of the organisation.
When the organisation moves into Charitable Trust a new Executive Director post will be created. This interim consultant role is to aid the Director with the new staff structure, which will need to be established by 2013.
