Job Opening – Intern (06/2012)
Menil Foundation, Inc.
New York, New York
The Jasper Johns Catalogue Raisonné of Drawings, which is being prepared under the auspices of the Menil Foundation, seeks an art history major or grad student to work with us in our New York office as a summer 2012 intern. This internship offers an ideal opportunity to gain hands-on experience in preparing a catalogue raisonné of this important twentieth-century artist. The catalogue will also include a comprehensive and authoritative exhibition list and bibliography. This internship will involve conducting exhibition and literature research in local libraries, museums, and archives in addition to outside resources.
Incoming seniors, recent graduates, or Masters students in art history are preferred for this position. Candidates must be motivated, highly organized, possess advanced research skills, and pay meticulous attention to detail.
Interested candidates should email a cover letter, CV/resumé, and the names and contact information of two professional references to: email@example.com. This is an unpaid internship for an average of 16hrs/week. Application deadline: June 25, 2012.
