The Collections Management Assistant will proofread and correct TMS entries in accordance with recently adopted stylistic guidelines and criteria in preparation for museum-wide database consolidation. The duration of the position is through 6/30/13.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Make corrections and changes to The Museum System (TMS) records by eliminating inaccuracies in spelling, punctuation, and word usage that were introduced in the verbatim transferal of unedited content from catalogue cards
• Update existing information to new style standards
• Correct records by moving information to new database fields
• Vet the accuracy and public access appropriateness of digital imagery associated with the records
• Other related duties

Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Previous proofreading, editing, or data entry experience, preferred
• Excellent computer skills
• Knowledge of TMS preferred
• Established ability to work independently on fast-moving, deadline projects

Knowledge and Education:
• B.A. required
• M.A. in Museum Studies, Library Science, Art History, or related discipline preferred
• Reading knowledge of one or more European languages a plus
