Position Summary:
The Manager of School and Community Programs develops and implements a cohesive group of educational programs that link school and community audiences with the Ackland’s collections and exhibitions, and support Ackland and University priorities.
Education Requirements:
Master’s degree in art history, museum education, or related discipline required; PhD desirable.
Qualification and Experience:
Minimum 5 years work experience, including substantive experience in an art museum setting. Knowledge of current education theories and trends in formal and informal educational settings. Fluency with theories of, and practical applications for, online teaching and learning tools. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize short-term and long-term projects. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with museum staff, university faculty and students, teachers, school administrators, and docents.
