The Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College seeks a dynamic and effective new Director to build on the quarter century foundation of its history.

The successful candidate will possess a keen understanding of the role of a Museum in an academic environment that is committed to the liberal arts and the value of a teaching collection to both the on and off campus community.  As the face of the Berman Museum, the Director will need to have a public presence as well as a broad understanding of art and art history, a commitment to developing collaborative relationships with faculty, students, alumni, parents , and friends, and donors at all levels.

S/he will supervise a staff and manage a dedicated Board of the Museum, which has a direct link to the Ursinus College Board of Trustees.

An advanced degree is required, as well as seven to ten years of experience in increasingly responsible leadership roles within the Museum world, with preference given to those who have that experience in a college or university setting.
