Job Opening – Art History – Instructor (07/2012)

RESPONSIBILITIES: SMCC is seeking a full-time faculty with a background in art history to teach Survey of Art History I & II, History of 20th Century Art, World Art, and/or other courses to students in the Fine Arts program, as well as non-majors. Duties include teach 15 credit hours or the equivalent each semester; develop, modify, and assess the effectiveness of curricula; continuous improvement in teaching methodology and student centered learning; advise and maintain scheduled availability to students; participate with other faculty in developing and managing online and face to face courses, curricula and academic policy; participate in department/college activities; committee work, and college service, particularly activities that will enhance the academic life of the college, and other professional duties related to the position; and contribute to the success of the college.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Two years college teaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Curatorial and exhibition experience
- Three years community college teaching experience
