The Department of Art and Design is seeking applications for a full-time Lecturer in Art History.
The Art + Design Department has approximately 1500 majors, 30 full time faculty, over 150 adjunct faculty, and 35 staff. The Department offers a BFA in Advertising Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Art, Interior Architecture, Product Design and a BA in Art + Design and Art History.
The Art + Design Department of Columbia College Chicago invites applications for a one year, full-time lecturer position beginning August 20, 2012 with the possibility of renewal through 2014. We seek a scholar with research and teaching experience, trained in the histories of global art and cultural history, preferably with a primary research area focused on African, Asian, Islamic, or Latin American culture.
Duties & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to teach art history survey courses as well as more focused thematic courses in the areas of specialization. Teaching load is three courses per semester with expectation of department service, including advising, coordinating multi-sectional art history survey, and curriculum building.
Ph.D. preferred, ABD considered.
