The College is pleased to announce a full-time, term position end June 30, 2013, reporting to the Interim Director of Education at the Williams College Museum of Art. The Coordinator will have the opportunity to support a variety of activities in the Museum including public, school, and family programs; Teachers’ Workshops; Kidspace (a collaboration among WCMA, the Clark, and MASS MoCA); and new programs for Williams students. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the success of museum programs to better serve the needs of faculty, students, preK-12 students, families, and the community.

We seek an energetic, creative and collaborative professional to conduct outreach efforts to reach new audiences, promote and coordinate programs, as well as develop educational and promotional materials. The Coordinator will work closely with our exemplary Museum Associates program, recruiting, training, and supervising Williams students who function as tour guides. S/he will schedule and monitor gallery activity, teach workshops, and conduct tours and activities for all age levels.

Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree; an MA in Art History or Art Education or an MFA is preferred. Knowledge of art history, artistic practices, and museum education; and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related field is required. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as are organizational and computer skills; teaching experience and an interest in working with children and within the field of education is ideal. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign CS is a plus. Job Group 3-B.
